Long-distance move from Coram, NY to North Myrtle Beach, SC

ABSOLUTELY USE THE OTHER GUY-DO NOT USE

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY- A YEAR'S WORTH OF A HEADACHE AND NO RESOLUTION

It has been almost a year since I have used this moving company. They not only didn't complete the furniture move, they broke almost every piece of furtniture (2 large dressers, 2 night stands,a large curio, tv stand, and coffee table) except for my standing desk. The cheapest valued item, of course.

The insurance company they force you to use jumbled the pictures taken with the descriptions around twice on me, taking longer to complete the process. Mind you, you cannot fix or get rid of the furniture by their terms or it is void, so forcing you to keep unrepaired broken furniture for almost a year as well.

We finally reached the amount settled 9/17/2024... it is now March 2025.

I have been sent fabricated screenshots that the check is coming...3 weeks later-NOTHING.

I have been told "We will Zelle you Monday" and NOTHING.

The settlement amount is 1/10 of the furniture cost, but at this point I agreed because something is something.

They have now blocked my number from the "claims service".

Whne asked to speak to a supervisor they are not available every time I ask. There is a different number they provided for customer service, it rings twice then says customer service voicemail... that is it. I have left multiple messages, I'm assuming this number is a fake one set up along with their images of promised checks.

When trying to call their number directly advertised on the website to speak to someone it goes directly to voicemail... I wonder how that happens?

After all of this headache, I am still receiving the furniture moving phone calls since they sell your information to other scam websites.

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, AND MENTAL HEALTH.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to North Carolina

Unprofessional, hellish experience.

My experience with Moving Relocation Systems was hellish and unprofessional.~ ~ TL;DR: Their front-end movers coerce you into a tip, they over-use packing material to up-charge you, and their admins are desk jockeys that cannot remember their responsibilities.~

~The estimate started innocently enough. BUT IT IS A BINDING ESTIMATE, do not overstate your belongings, or you will be held to the higher estimate, even if your goods weigh less. On the phone I set up my pack out date, and my delivery date. I explicitly asked if the delivery date was subject to any uncertainty, they said no, your goods will be delivered on X date, the only uncertainty would be weather or other natural disaster.~

~When the movers actually came to move, they inflated their price by gouging you on moving supplies and OVERTAPING all the boxes. I had pre-packed all my boxes, and they re-taped them with an excessive amount of tape. WHO TAPES A DUFFLE BAG?!? Not even in places that matter, just indiscriminate taping. That lead to a tape surcharge of $126 for 42 rolls. Before they left, the foreman instructed me that I could either pay $400 for a “long carry” because they didn’t reserve a spot to park (and they didn’t show me a measurement with any type of tape measure, etc.), or I could give them a $300 cash tip. They did not clean up the disaster zone they left behind, which included bare razor blades ON THE FLOOR, and all the empty rolls of tape. It had been a long and stressful day, so I just handed over the lesser amount.~

~The same day, I received a call that my shipment weighed less than the binding estimate, and was told that I still owed the higher amount. At this point I was livid. I explained how my day at the pack out went, the cash tip, bare razor blades, and general level of dissatisfaction I had. The employee credited the account the cash tip and said that this type of behavior is not representative of the company.~

~When I was waiting for the shipment on the other end, I received a call that my goods will be delivered the day after they were promised. I told them no, you actually promised me this date. If your weight estimates are binding, so must your delivery dates, I will not accept that binding agreements with your company only work in one direction. I told them to listen to their customer service tapes and find that it was actually explicitly stated that my goods would be here no later than date X, and that I planned travel around this date, so unless they want to refund the flight-change fee, they better be here by date X.~

~It turns out, they packed the truck backwards and had to start out on the furthest distance and work back up. This is the level of incompetence at the company.~

~Make sure your boxes are packed so they can be shipped in any manner, upside down, sideways, etc. Several boxes were shipped upside down, including a full rolling-tool-chest.
My unpacking was much smoother. The movers were very quick and professional. I actually felt joy handing over the tip and buying them lunch. There was only one “broken” item, and they fixed it on the spot. (We did not ship any TVs, computers, or sectional sofas.)~

~The overall moving of the belongings was okay, but the customer service was abysmal.

Official company response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services.

Sales Rep delivery Promise: The sales representative cannot give a date or ETA for the shipment. Once the job is booked it is transferred to dispatch and it is up to the dispatch to coordinate the delivery ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).

Packing/Overcharge: All Customers are instructed in advance that all Items are to be disassembled and packed for safe transportation. If items are left loose and are not properly packed, the carrier will either refuse the acceptance of such items for shipping or offer packing services for an additional charge. Per information provided on the original estimate and in conjunction with the shipping documents, the customer is required to pay additional in packing services which were not pre-ordered and quoted.

Disciplinary Action against Employees: We regret the customer had to sustain such unacceptable behavior or our foreman and/ or crew. Our company policy provides for disciplinary action when such a complaint is received by a customer. The matter has been addressed by management. We thank you for bringing the matter to our attention as it helps our quality control department avoid such future complaints.

Space Reservation: Sometimes customer’s items prematurely fill the space they had reserved before the entire inventory listed on the original estimate is loaded. The movers cannot predict how every customer’s items will be shaped, how many odd, bulky, or fragile items that each move will have. Every move is different. Similar to asking your relator to show you 3 bedroom homes, 3 bedrooms homes may range in size from 750 square feet up to 2,400 square feet. However, some of the smaller homes may properly accommodate your items better than the larger homes due to their layout being more compatible with your needs. The movers cannot determine how items will fit into the truck until they are able to take a full review of the entire shipment and they will then calculate how they will stack items inside the tractor trailer. When a customer has many fragile or many odd shaped items that cannot be stacked as tall vertically, then their shipment must be spread out horizontally for safe transit and will occupy more space in the tractor trailer.

Delay: We have up to 21 business days from the day of pickup to deliver shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate. Although we work very hard to meet our customer’s requested pick-up and delivery dates, Sometimes it’s not always an option for a variety of reasons which makes the Logistics of the moving industry complicated and unpredictable.

Claim: We have contacted CSI our 3rd part claims service provider to initiate a claim file for the customer and allow customer to file a proper claim as required by law. The customer was sent login information on 08/28/17 in order to file a claim.

We regret that the customer found it necessary to file a complaint, but we trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.

Long-distance move from Brooklyn, NY to Spring, TX

Great Company Great Service.

Well this was a nice experience for such a stressful situation! My Father recently passed leaving my 83 year old mother widowed and needing to move in the Home she has lived in for 52 years!! To bring her up with me and my Sister! This was a very stressful situation after getting 20 calls by just putting my information on one site!! I got a message and spoke to a Glen Kaplan! After explaining the whole situation and how fragile my mother was /also scared to death to move, Glen was like a Grandson to her, he went over a detailed inventory with me then had a 3rd party come out for N/C to do a visual to make sure we were accurate on our initial inventory, Once we had the in-home I was OVER_ESTIMATED By Glen By $800.00 (Nice surprise) and felt really comfortable after looking on the Federal D.O.T site showing they are an actual Carrier and shows the had over 825,000 miles last year alone with the D.O.T!! I was sold, my mother was in love lol (Nice Guy) really went the extra mile to make sure my mother was taken care of and called her literally 2x a week just to check in until she was finally picked up last week! We just got our delivery and they set everything up and placed all furnishing's where we wanted the Price went DOWN $300.00 from $3150.00 to $2850.00 because o day of pick up she did not use all the space we figured (first time ive seen that) the guy's/crew were great and most importantly MY MOTHER IS HAPPY!! I actually sent Glen a little GC as he really went above and beyond for my MOM! Moving relocation is a Great ,Professional, solid company who I will jot only recommend to ANYONE I KNOW MOVING,But now that my Sister was what a great job they did we just called Glen again today to move my sister's Daughter to College next week!! Keep up the Great work not too many solid companies like you anymore!

Double Face.

This company is a total fraud. I went by these 5-star reviews and the sweet words from their Saleswoman named Teri. Before taking your money, they're the nicest people on earth. When they took all their money before delivering your goods, then you have to deal with the damages/losses that are purely due to their ignorance and mishandling. Because you trusted the company, you have to file claims for your loss/damage and guess what they pay you? 60 CENTS per pound. Example: if they damaged your $1,000 TV -- they will pay you 50 lbs x $0.60 = $30. You will be pulling your hair that you guys damaged my TV, which happened in my case and now you pay me $30? You lost my printer for $400 value and on top of that, you charged me to move it and now 10 lbs x $0.60 = $6? Are you kidding me? But your movers stole these attractive items and they were ignorant so why do you treat all of these as an accident? Nobody will care about you, because they got your money and they do it in cash. Except for the first portion when they book your contract. Totally unfair and dishonest. I would never ever recommend this company. Never EVER pay them cash. Credit card and only when they deliver and you inspect your items, otherwise kiss your items goodbye.

Deception and dishonesty..at your Service!

I laid awake at night wondering how the employees who work for Moving Relocation Systems sleep at night. Do they actually rest believing that they have genuinely helped their customers that day? Do they feel good about the service they provided? Or do they feel just as trapped? Perhaps they NEED this job for whatever reason so they feel "forced" to work for Moving Relocation Systems. I've contemplated so many scenarios trying to justify why anyone would work for such a unethical and dishonest company. The salesman, Matt Sladowski seemed to be so personable and honest ensuring that the company he worked for would make my move simple. I was moving from PA to WA. He gave me a quote for ~$4800 for a 2 bedroom condo, which actually included some extra cubic for "items I may have forgotten about". He told me I could leave the clothing in my dressers and in an email he told me the amount that I was quoted at pick up would not change. Matt grossly underestimated the move. The "final" price ended up being $8200 - more than $3k more. The movers, without my permission, also took it upon themselves to remove some (not all) contents from my dressers into their boxes to create more boxes, increasing cubic feet and cost. I was originally told they would be there on Sunday. Then on Saturday around noon, I received a phone call, telling me he would be delivering a day early. That took a phone call to Matt and Jennifer to figure that out because I could not understand him. On Saturday, an hour before they were supposed to arrive, I received a phone call from Jennifer telling me that the drivers could not get the trailer into my street and that they would need to get a shuttle (+ $600) to deliver my belongings. Interesting because I was assured by Matt that they would have no trouble at all getting into my street. Matt also guaranteed me, in writing, that what I paid at pickup was the complete bill. I told Jennifer this and she reminded me that basically whatever conversations I had with Matt were null and void because I signed the contract at pickup that essentially gives them all rights to your first newborn son. So they held my belongings hostage until I came up with the payment.I watched the movers scratch my furniture and damage my walls with no regard. They made me take inventory (their job) and they belittled me when I told them it was their responsibility for assembling the furniture that their partners disassembled at pickup. The next morning, after the move, I found a huge pile of trash (rolled up tape, ripped blankets, and boxes) outside that they left behind in the mud. The drivers never notified me that they would be leaving this trash behind. How rude and disrespectful. I reported the damages to my belongings to CSI, the 3rd party company that Moving Relocation Systems does business with. About 95% of my claim was denied because the movers at pickup placed an arbitrary code (I thought it was the Foreman's initials) next to every single item on my inventory list that indicated that the item was scratched on pickup. Every single item. Including items that cannot even be scratched, like a box or a mattress. They made sure they covered themselves. And FYI, without an original receipt of an item's value, they use the weight of the object to detect value. Let that sink in. Weight cannot equal value. Your wedding ring weighs nothing so under their contract, if something happened to it, they would make sure you are reimbursed for $.60 (based on weight). I don't know how these people can sleep at night knowing that they work for a company that employs some of the shadiest business practices I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing.I'm sorry Matt, Stephany, and Jennifer that you have to work under these sad conditions. I hope that someday you can find a company to work for that doesn't thrive on swindling and deception. Until then, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Beware folks, these con artists want their payment in cash.

Good Afternoon Mrs. Paese,

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you've had with MRS.

I would like to further explain if possible. You signed and received an estimate for a 2 bedroom condo, the list of items you provided totaled 31 items, 71 Pieces. The estimated given price for your Cubic Feet (700) or your total Moving estimate given BEFORE pick up was $4812.51. (Please note that in the "E signed" estimate, it state that MRS is providing you with this Binding estimate based on the list of items you provided by you in this estimate, The price is guaranteed to the list and services rendered. ANY Additional items NOT on LIST will be Charged the same rate per Cubic Feet. see under "Notice to all Customers") at Pick up.. MRS Picked up a total of 126 items. Your items came up to 470 additional Cubic Feet totaling $2937.50 in additional charges, The foremen discussed the price and explained the additional items which were agreed to, Making your Move Total $ 8058.75. MRS does not allow any clothed filled drawers to be delivered due to we would like to protect your belongings and integrity of move. Everything has to be in boxes, we don't accept bags unless they are certified Moving Packing Bags or Heavy duty bags. MRS understands that you did not have access from the street onto your front door for a 53 feet tractor trailer. (Also on delivery paper work you signed) which requires a SHUTTLE SERVICE. MRS'S delivery driver quoted you $600.00 in which we discounted $300.00. Making shuttle charge only $300.00 Dollars. We understood you had a few Mishaps at delivery, Because of this we DID NOT charge you for a shuttle out of courtesy. Please understand that MRS delivered your belongings in 10 days, We usually have 3-21 Business days to reach the state of Washington from New Jersey. You stated that we held your belongings hostage, Which is false and something unethical in our practices. Let me remind you. Your scheduled pick up date was 10/9/19. Your first Available delivery date was 10/14/19. ( We do not deliver or start loading until your first available delivery date. or day your ABLE TO RECEIVE ) Your Delivery was 10/19/19. You called on 10/22/19 to let us know of damages. You also filed for damages, and was offered a settlement with our claims department CSI.org The trash they left behind is your responsibility as if we do not know your city disposal rules or Building Garbage Rules. I do agree and will discuss with mover's you should've been told of garbage to dispose correctly. Our Payment policy is at pick up you can pay with a Credit card, Money order, Check, & Cash. Upon Delivery We only accept Cash or Postal Money Order only. ( We also confirm payment policy each recorded conversation) You paid in Check, Cash.. And the only charge on Credit Card was your initial Deposit which you were never charged a Hefty service charge?

Also .60 per pound is the required insurance for moving companies, If you wanted FULL coverage you could've simply requested information. Please understand this is all explained under contract.. Very sorry that you had inconveniences, We worked with you, and tried our best to perform and do a good job. Someone from our company will be following up with you shortly.. Thank You.

Local move within Brooklyn, NY

Unreliable and Unprofessional

I moved from Brooklyn to Tennessee. The movers in Brooklyn were decent but two movers used my bathroom for a total of 45 minutes and made the room un-enterable after the fact. The movers on the ground in Tennessee were deplorable. They overstacked boxes on the dolly, tried to drag the dolly through uneven terrain through the yard instead of using the street and driveway, and refused to put my bed together. I was specifically told by Chris that the cost included putting furniture together but nope. I watched them unload the truck and they dropped boxes at least on four separate occasions. All of my boxes were clearly marked, particularly my fragiles, and they threw them on the ground upside down or on their side. Several items were broken and upon reaching out to Chris for recourse I have heard nothing. All rhetoric that the moving is done by their own workers seems to be false or there would be more accountability.

Long-distance move from Pittsfield, MA to Lake Charles, LA

Poor customer service

Chris H who reported he was senior management was my sales rep. Chris reported he would be my point of contact throughout the entire move. Chris ensured that I would get the “white glove service”(cost of $500) and the moving company used their own trucks and movers (lie). The night of the move the drivers showed up 3 hours late at 9pm in an unmarked truck.

I was advised by the company not to fill out the money orders and to leave them blank.

My items arrived in a truck with another companies name and logo on it. The driver made me pay him and sign paperwork before he unloaded the truck or he would leave and charge me a redelivery fee. He would not inventory the items as he unloaded the truck. Boxes were crushed, items broken and boxes missing. He then wanted to charge me to bring the items 20 feet to the freight elevator and 36 feet to the storage unit.

I tried reaching out to my sales rep and other employees but they were closed the day the truck arrived. I called and emailed on Monday with no response back.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Walnut Creek, CA

Should have read the negative reviews...

I recently moved from New York City to California using Moving Relocation System, and it was an absolute disaster. My items were picked up on 9/9/24 and delivered on 9/18/24, and I paid a total of $6,984—only to find out later that I was heavily overcharged. We measured the space our belongings actually took in the truck (see before and after photos), and it came out to 864 cubic feet. Our items occupied 6 panels, each 2 feet wide, in a truck that’s 9 feet high and 8 feet wide. Yet, we were billed for an additional 236 cubic feet at a rate of $5.25 per cubic foot, despite clear evidence of the true volume.

According to their own pricing breakdown, our actual charges should have been:

864 cu. ft. x $5.25 = $4,536

Fuel Surcharge (14%) = $635

Service Fee = $400

Total = $5,571

However, they charged us as if we used significantly more cubic footage, leading to a final bill of $6,984. Based on their own numbers, we’re due a refund of $1,412, but this company has proven to be dishonest and unreliable from start to finish.

On top of all this, when our shipment arrived, nearly all of my furniture was damaged—broken, scratched, dented, or ripped. Several appliances no longer function or won’t even power on. I have never experienced such carelessness, and the inaccurate billing feels downright predatory. I strongly advise anyone considering Moving Relocation System to look elsewhere if you value your belongings and your peace of mind.

Chris was so helpful and supportive

I was faced with a long distance move under trying circumstances. I talked with Chris several times, and he was patient and informative. He prefers that his clients are aware of different aspects of moving companies and how to spot potential problems, so it was worth listening to his info. He gave me a fair quote and informed me of my options. He did not rush me in my decision. He gave me room to consider a discussion with a friend where I was lucky enough to have a friend of mine with a van in a position to help me, all the better for my emotional state. So although I did not use Moving Relocation Systems, I do recommend contacting the company and speaking with Chris. This company is an actual moving company with their own trucks. Thank you again Chris for your positivity and support. I am sure this company would have brought a successful move.

Long-distance move from New York to Georgia

Estimate scam.

Worst experience of my life! Never use moving relocation systems out of New Jersey! Jeff Gold, their smooth talking salesman, gave me an estimate that blew the other companies out of the water. I told him that they should come out and look for themselves just to be certain of the price. He said, "No,that's not necessary. Our estimates our firm. Just tell us what you've got." I was thrilled.

But then, his boys come and load all of our stuff onto their truck, then announce that they can only move our stuff for $3500… NOT the $1238.79 they quoted. But, of course the trucks are already loaded, so if we back out now we have to pay a huge fine! Not worth it. Very clever, boys. I try to get Jeff gold on the phone and… Big surprise, Mr. friendly is no longer available. Then they get me on the phone with their closer and he can do nothing for me. So now we have to wait a couple of weeks to try to get that money together to get our stuff back. Can you say "ransom"?

Finally after a few weeks, we get the money to get our stuff to our new home and when their boys get here, they announce "0h, we didn't realize the terrain was so tricky. We're going to need another $500." If I were a violent man .. so, I tell them "we have no more money". They called the main office and the guy's begging with me to give him more money to get my stuff off the truck. Finally, he was "kind" enough to let me pay only an extra $300 so that they would finally release our belongings to us. I finally get Jeff Gold back on the phone a couple weeks later to complain and after about 30 seconds he says "well, you should've known better!" and he hangs up.

Why I was surprised to find several items missing when we unpacked I cannot tell you. CRIMINAL! Pure and simple.

Official company response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services.

Shuttle $500: Shuttle: It is not up to the customer, our office, or the crew to determine if the truck will be able to access the origin or destination safely. It is the sole decision of the driver because ultimately, it is the driver who is going to be held responsible for the safety of the crew, the goods, the truck and its surroundings. If the driver is not comfortable with driving to an area they have the right to determine if there is a need for a shuttle. If the driver causes damages because they tried to fit when there is not enough space to pass through, or if the driver gets the truck stuck and cannot get out after the delivery it can be such a disaster. Customers do not understand how much of an inconvenience it is to unexpectedly have to provide the shuttle service. It takes up much time from the movers who are already getting yelled at by customers due to not being able to meet their exact scheduling needs. It requires money to rent a truck, wages for the crew while they are waiting on getting the truck, fuel from and back to the rental company etc. The worse is that the movers have to do double the work! The must unload from the tractor trailer onto the truck then drive to the destination and unload into the residence; then repeat as necessary. The fee for a shuttle covers the rental, the insurance, and most of the wages for the crew during this time. So, please understand that a shuttle is not a pleasant service to have to provide especially when our movers are being pushed so hard to accommodate our customers' schedules and still be compliant with DOT regulations.

Horrible Company.

Do not use this company!

My household was delivered late, everything I own destroyed or stolen.

I even had other people’s belongings left at my place.

I have sent demand letters via certified mail to them, which they refuse to sign for. They will not respond to emails nor phone calls.

I have two police reports against them.

I have now had to hire an attorney!

Local move within New Jersey

Lowball estimate, triple the price after pack up and cash only.

I am recently widowed. I lost my husband to cancer and this was the first move I've done without him handling everything. The sales rep - Rich- from this company just literally lied about everything from the pricing, the ownership of the trucks, the process of the move, everything that can be lied about. I must have seemed like a winning lottery ticket to him because they took me for everything. This company is horrible. They have a sales team that gives whatever low estimate is needed to win the job and then after they have everything loaded on the truck the price tripled. Yes - TRIPLED!! Their salesman Rich told me they owned their own fleet of trucks so the move is done with their own trucks. I had a guaranteed price from another company that he told me was through the roof and they would never be over $10,000 - no matter what. Allied trucks showed up for the move. I was given a low estimate of $6500 for the move, I knew it was low and literally talked him up to cover everything for $9000. I was sent a "Binding Estimate" which supposedly means they can't charge more than that price. Once my house was loaded on the truck they demanded over $17500!! Their "owner" named Tina told me she would "settle" with me for $15,500. How is that legal?? She told me she didn't care, my stuff was already on the truck and they could sell it at auction after 20 days. If I wanted my belongings(my whole house was packed on the truck) I had to come up with an additional $6500 IN CASH ONLY!! I was financing this move with a credit card that now was maxxed out and I needed only cash to get my house out of their truck. The truck showed up in CO with boxes upon boxes of packed PAPER. Just wrapped paper. Some boxes had 1 or 2 extension cords in the box with nothing else - just paper. They filled the boxes with paper to fill up extra space and try to justify the overcharge. I am missing boxes of my belongings, I have boxes that don't belong to me - I don't know who's things they are and boxes of broken things. Broken tables, broken desks and broken chairs. This is the exact company I was trying to avoid. These are the details my husband always handled and they simply took advantage of me and my lack of experience. They are the lowest of the low. No matter what the pages of estimates claim for pricing - they found a way to overcharge me at every turn. Hopefully someone will read this and I can save them from a horrible moving experience and a lengthy battle. I have to battle them to get my belongings wherever they may be and recoup some of the overcharged money. They are an ABSOLUTE FRAUD OF A COMPANY. They made me sign a piece of paper to get my belongings back that I wouldn't sue them. If I didn't sign it I couldn't get my things back. They are set up to rip people off, they are completely prepared to scam at every level.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to California

Move from MA to CA.

I do NOT write negative reviews however this time I feel like I need to let everybody know – using Moving Relocation Systems, LLC located at 1 Locust Avenue, Suite 2LT, Wallington, NJ 07057 IS YOUR’S WORST, UGLIEST NIGHTMARE COME TRUE.
Please shop around for another relocation/moving services. DO NOT give business to Moving Relocation Systems, LLC.
I will place review to every single social media available to make sure people are aware of this company. About how bad and unprofessional Moving Relocation Systems, LLC is. About the poor quality service Moving Relocation Systems, LLC provides.
(1) PRICE:
Moving Relocation Systems, LLC intentionally gives you very low initial estimate (price) for relocation services to lock you up in the contract with them.
Moving Relocation Systems, LLC charges $4.6 per cubic feet. When you talk to them first time and go over the list of household items and boxes, they intentionally under-estimate the total cubic footage. So it looks good on paper and you sign the contract with them. However the moment the pickup team arrives price goes up. At this point you are stuck with them because you already paid the deposit (non-refundable) and also you need to move your furniture and boxes out of the sold house or rental apartment ASAP. There is no time to look for another relocation company.
My initial estimate for the move from state of MA to CA was $2700 and I ended up paying $5800. They wanted me to pay extra $800 on delivery (when 18 wheeler couldn’t get into my driveway) but I refused.
(2) PAYMENT:
Pay attention to following detail – first 50% of the price you can pay by Credit Card.
The rest of the balance should be paid on delivery in CASH!!
(3) PICKUP DATE:
My move date was set by the Moving Relocation Systems sales person during our first call, about 3 months before the move date.
The relocation services started calling me 1.5 week in advance asking if I am flexible to move 5 days earlier and then 3 days earlier. Finally I gave up and agreed for the pickup 1 day ahead of schedule.
Pickup time was set for 3-5pm. Pickup team arrived 3 hours earlier giving me only 30 minutes notice that they were “on their way”.
Moving Relocation Systems, LLC doesn’t have concept of the SCHEDULE.
(4) DETAILS ABOUT WHERE YOUR STUFF IS STORED :
I was not explained much during the pickup, only one member of the pickup team spoke some English. But I was told first time during the pickup that my furniture and boxes will be delivered to the warehouse in NJ and stored there until they have enough jobs to fill up the container to go across United States.
Pickup team tagged every box and furniture item, stacked everything in the truck, asked me to sign the papers and pay 50% upfront, and left in hurry as they needed to get back to the warehouse in NJ.
(5) DELIVERY DATE:
Delivery date was given to me by the Moving Relocation Systems, LLC central office. It was not fast, 10 days but I it was OK with me.
I was contacted 1 week after the pickup and was told to be ready to pay on delivery in 12 days. I was surprised that delivery terms changed but agreed to that.
I was contacted 4 days before the delivery term (12 days) and notified that trailer with my furniture and boxes will be at my door next day.
Once again, Moving Relocation Systems, LLC doesn’t understand the concept of the SCHEDULE.
(6) QUALITY OF SERVICE:
Here is the worst part.
- 38 out of 52 plastic, heavy duty bins were totally destroyed. Side walls and tops of plastic bins were cracked, broken and missing. Clothes inside of the damaged containers were simply hanging out of what’s left of the plastic bin, taped to the left overs of the plastic bin (this is best case scenario).
It looked to us like people were walking on those boxes OR perhaps boxes were unloaded and loaded more than twice/three times.
- All clothes were dragged on the pavement or dirty floors of the truck and were either totally damaged or partially damaged and needed cleaning.
- Cardboard UHAUL boxes were damaged, UHAUL wardrobe box has been totally destroyed, one wall was ripped top to the middle of the box, the metal rod collapsed and all of the clothing items were on the bottom of the box, wet and wrinkled.
- The furniture had multiple scratches and broken supporting legs. Very light TV stand was taken apart and glass shelves were packaged and arrived in good condition. However wooden legs were totally beat up.
- Mountain bike was taken apart without my permission and front fork was totally bent.
- The brand new iron was damaged. Most likely fell out of the damaged box.
The list can go on. I spent over $2000 on cleaning, fixing and replacing household items and furniture, servicing the bike.
(7) INSURANCE CLAIM:
Complaints handling is yet another scam by Moving Relocation Systems, LLC.
I called Moving Relocation Systems, LLC to submit my complaint after several days, when I assessed the damage. They re-directed me to the Insurance Claims Service International website to submit the claim for damaged items. I spent about 2 hours submitting the claim, itemizing and attaching the pictures of the damaged boxes and items. The insurance company came back with another list of forms and requirements, also asking for specific pictures (one from far, one close up). At that point I decided not to waste more time on following up the claim. I found several online reviews where people went through the whole process, following all instructions from insurance company and were offered couple hundred dollars as a compensation. The compensation was not worth my time, I just dropped the insurance claim.
SUMMARY:
1. DO extensive research on the relocation company.
2. DO check the references.
3. DO NOT look at the total price/estimate, DO pay attention to the $$/per cubic feet.
4. DO ask how they handle the lost/damaged claims, in case not everything goes smooth.
BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR MOVE.

Long-distance move from Ithaca, NY to Dublin, CA

Satisfied.

Due to work reasons I recently moved with Moving Relocation Systems from New York to California. Moving across country was hard as anyone could imagine but in my situation it was a struggle. I decided to use a moving company because I knew I wouldn't be able to do it alone.

Let's start with the first phone call. My sales representative was very professional, he made me feel very secure in shipping all of my things with their company. I cannot fail to admit the fact that the relocation services were impressive. Moving Relocation did such a great job. I admire the enthusiasm and passion shared by the movers during the relocation. I am impressed by the fact that these movers were willing to do anything to ensure perfect relocation. It will be my greatest joy seeing them relocate me again.

The foreman on the day of my pick up was so sweet, took his time to explain everything to me and make sure that I understood all the fine print and details in the contract. My delivery day in California was scheduled and I couldn't have been more relieved to see all of my things in great condition!!

Long-distance move from New York to California

Awful Service: Lost Dining Table/TV and Broken Antiques/Furniture.

I used Moving Relocation Systems last week to move from New York to California. I gave Glen an extremely accurate inventory of my things (including measurements) and was quoted $6100 for the cross-country move. Once the movers packed my things into the truck, they came back to me with a quote of $11,200. I argued that it wasn't my fault that they misquoted/underquoted because I gave them measurements. They argued that my furniture was bigger than expected. Not possible I said, since I gave you measurements.
After an hour of arguing with a supervisor, we negotiated the price down to $8,900, which was still nearly $3,000 over what we were expecting to pay.
Our furniture arrived a week later in California on a Sunday. We received a call and a new company (I was absolutely guaranteed in my quote that MRS only used their vans and employees..) who said they couldn't get their semi-truck up our street.
They then said they would need to transfer our stuff to two smaller trucks and would charge us $1500 in cash. We said ABSOLUTELY NOT OUR FAULT. This wasn't part of our quote and we wouldn't pay it.
They then threatened to put our stuff in storage and we would have to pay $750 a week to get it out.
I talked with my husband and I said we would pay the $1500 and then deduct that amount from the remaining payment to MRS. We agreed to receive the furniture that day..and then they never came!!
The following day we received our furniture but MRS asked us that we sign the paper agreeing to waive the fee and we needed to go get the contract notarized. Again, we refused. Why should we go out of our way to get something notarized for a fee that we never should have paid??
Needless to say, the experience was awful. They damaged our credenza, broke several of our expensive items, including an antiqued mirrored nightstand (worth $4,000) LOST our dining table and 56" television, dirtied our dining chairs (black hand prints on everything!) and didn't set up the beds as agreed to.
It was absolutely awful and I would caution anyone to do business with this company.

Sad but true ~ Shame on this Company !

** Do not use this company **
1/10th of a star is more than they deserve for a rating.
I had over $5,000 worth of items missing from my inventory when it arrived in FL. Over $4,500 worth of damage or broken items from their inability to tying anything down or holding it in place As shown in the photo. The company overcharged $1,500+ for extra cubic feet. When I contacted the company I was then told to go through their Insurance Claim company CSI Pros and they made a settlement offering me $257 telling me I had X'ed a box that said I would accept $.60 on the pound for my items, which I had not. Talk about slap in the face. In their settlement they did not address any of my missing items nor the damage their driver did to my mailbox upon leaving or the overcharge of cubic ft. I was told by the company Mgr. Mike " No driver would steal any clients items as they have to pay the claim out of their pocket". If you were not a honest person and you could have $5,000 worth of items for $257 what would you do. I entrusted this company with my personal belongings only to have family heirlooms stolen from me that no amount of monies can replace. They also charged me for full service which included disassembly and reassembly of furnishings, loading all items and unloading and placement of all items at final destination. What they did was load all items in the truck in NY, said it would be delivered in 3 - 10 days and the driver told me I was fully insured. Was delivered in 19 days, wasn't started to be unloaded until late in the evening 8:20pm with the driver and a guy that he offered a 2.5 hour job for unloading from outside our local gas station ~ not a contracted bonded individual from the moving company. The guy left at 11pm leaving the driver alone to finish unloading, at 12:30am the driver said he was too tired to continue working, so dropped off 80+ boxes in our garage, 20+ boxes in our driveway and left a lot of our furniture in our open screen lanai. Driving away and breaking our mailbox on his way out. So this left I and my husband to do their work for them at a premium price. I have shoulder issues and my husband has a bad back. Have contacted any and all services to put in complaints. If they sound too good to be true they probably are not a great as they seem. Do not be their next victim.

Long-distance move from Newington, CT to Lorton, VA

Sad But True . . . .

OK .. Long Story short .. if you are not in a rush to get your precious items delivered then Moving Relocation Systems is a great choice. So why the "2-Stars"? Simple .. Alex (the Sales Rep) sold us on the idea that his companies policy of extending the delivery of our goods by 9 Days would not happen .. WRONG! We had to literally contact the on-call manager on a Saturday to ensure that our belongings arrived sooner than 2 weeks. Not only will Alex tell you anything to get the sale, he'll actually low-ball you on the price. Oh yeah, our $1,800.00 quote after it was all said and done mutated into $5,200.00. If you do decide to move with them, (to be fair to the movers) they are fast, hard working and do their best to wrap your belongings so that nothing get's broken during transit. Lastly, R-E-A-D the fine print .. after you agree to paying Moving Relocation Systems, you'll have to sign multiple pages, one of which asks when is the earliest date you'd be able to receive your goods .. I highly recommend putting that days date, because the 9 Day Moving Grace Period begins AFTER that date. Hope this helps . . . - Cleo.

Move.

Moving to another state is always stressful. Finding a reliable mover is even more so. Moving Relocation Systems made is easy. Matt walked us through every step. I would text him at odd hours with an odd question and he always responded, quickly. On move day, the crew was nothing sort of amazing. They were fast and professional. Since we were not moving much they had it done within 2 hours. The Florida delivery team was also fast and professional. Also, the company keeps you informed of pick up times and delivery times. They called when the truck left for Florida. I highly recommend this company. And the move didn't break the bank.

Long-distance move from Toms River, NJ to Cape Coral, FL

Absolutely Recommend.

I have moved cross country many times due to job relocating. I researched many companies before deciding to hire Moving Relocation Systems. My representative was very transparent. I value the fact that she told me what I needed to hear not what I wanted to hear. After we did an accurate inventory count, she explained to me that all tvs, lamps, pictures, mirrors, glass and any fragile items had to be boxed either by me or the movers at pick up. She said that they did not accept loose items, items in plastic bags nor could items be left in dresser drawers, She said these items also had to be boxed by me or if the men had to do it at pick up, they would charge for labor and materials. It was also explained to me that the delivery time started from the first day that I was available to accept my furniture. Average delivery time was 3-5 business days. My items arrived in good condition and on time. Movers offer standard liability insurance of $.60 per lb. per item. It is not much. I did get 3rd party insurance but luckily, I did not have to file a claim. I did have a second stop at a storage facility on pick up. I did not realize that there was an elevator involved, so, they waived the $75.00 fee as a courtesy. All in all, I am very happy with the service that I received from Moving Relocation Systems, I will be using their services again and I will recommend them to my friends, family and coworkers. Moving is very stressful. I have been down this pike many times. My representative said that both the men and I relied upon her to do an accurate estimate so the move would go smoothly. Thank you guys for a great experience with no big surprises!

Local move within Florida

Disappointed by services.

Used this company after spending countless months talking back and forth with the assurances that everything would be smooth, Moved from NY to FL was guaranteed that I didn’t need to pay the extra money for insurance they were very professional and would not damage anything, much to my surprise when my stuff arrived a week later I had so many things damaged including my flat screen was broken, marble table top chipped, brand new furniture cracked, to make matters worse I was told that they weren’t liable for wood damage so disappointing was offered a $213 dollar settlement after having more than $2,000 in damages and spending close to $10,000 to move my stuff. Never imagined that I would feel so cheated and lied too.

Terrible from start to finish.

Moving is stressful enough and when you pay for a company that “guarantees they will take care of your stuff and they pride themselves on doing a great job”you Expect nothing less. Dispatch at this company is terrible no one I mean no one is on the same page! They break your stuff and act like they have no idea how it happened (CARELESSNESS) or they pretend it was already broken. Please explain why anyone would move already broken furniture. ? There were so many errors from when to pick up and when to drop off. They tried to make me fly to AZ early and advised they’d give me $200 dollars. Like what are you crazy!? Then they put our stuff in “storage” since it was “their error”and surprise surprise there were scorpions in our stuff that was wrapped in blankets and some how everything was FILTHY. Which means our stuff was in a warehouse AGAIN. I’m Really disappointed .Please TAKE MY ADVISE STAY AWAY. THEY WILL SING YOU A BEAUTIFUL LULLABY TO GET YOU ALL LOCKED IN ,GET YOUR MONEY AND YOU WILL REGRET IT. PLEASE GO WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY.

Moved from NJ to Ga , everything was packed in the truck in NJ with black moving blankets. Where did they go!? and of the storm. All our belongings were damaged. No one answers after they get there money. Ali did the sale, then Jennifer takes over, and you get screwed

Misleading company

I was waiting for my claim to come to an end to write my review. This was the first time that I used a moving company. The person who did our quote was very nice and respectful, the problem that I have with them is that they don’t explain to you the whole process in detail.

My husband was given a price over the phone and when the truck came in (late) and everything was in, the movers told us the the price was not 1600 as we were told but 5,000 because our stuff took up to much space.

They have an insurance company in case something gets broken or lost. (tricky) the items are value by weight instead of what you paid for it. $0.60 cents per pound.

When the truck arrived to Florida, I was delivered two broken tables, two broken lamp shades, one vase and two missing bottles of whisky.

I submitted a claim and just now I received the results.

$24. 00 for each table that I paid almost $200 respectively.

$12.00 for the shade lamp

$0.00 for the vase because I pack it.

The frustration that I feel is overwhelming the lack of communication is made on purpose so you over pack and they make money out of you. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Long-distance move from Middleboro, MA to Ocala, FL

Deception

We hired this company and worked with Israel to move us from MA to FL. We needed 2 stops with 1/2 our stuff going to the apartment and 1/2 our stuff to storage because we hadn't bought a house yet.

The driver called me a few hours before he got here. He told me he would not make 2 stops even though it was in my contract. He told me he has never made 2 stops and he would not! He told me to call Jennifer. I called Jennifer and told her what he said. She told me she would talk to the driver and her manager and call me back. I said he will be here in ½ and hour are you sure you will call me back to tell me how to proceed. She said yes…An hour past and she never called me back. I called her many times, left a message, kept calling her and she wouldn’t answer.

The driver arrived at our apartment and told us we needed to rent a uhaul truck. He would meet us at the storage unit because there was no way could pull his truck in the complex. He also told me again he would NOT make 2 stops he doesn't so that. He told me he would unload the stuff with the white stickers into the truck to bring to the apartment and the stuff with the green stickers in the storage unit. We would then have to drive the uhaul back to the apartment and pay the labors to unload the truck. Keep in mind the only reason we hired movers to pack our belongings and move them for us is because we didn’t want to have to move things ourselves. My husband has a bad back and I have bad knees. When we hires Relocation services we did NOT sign up for this sh*% show.

Moving along, we really had no choice but to do what the driver suggested. The main office wasn’t calling us back, nor did they ever.

I got on the huge semi truck trailer and helped direct what was going where (white stickers in the uhaul and green stickers in the storage). Then I noticed there were around 5 bins, couch cushions that didn’t belong to me. They had white stickers but the wrong number. This was in the middle of my load. They were pulling things off the trailer like my table saw and mitre saw without being in boxes or wrapped in a blanket. Pieces of the saws where on the ground. I scooped them up and put them next to my purse. They put that stuff in storage and the labors did not know how to pack so they just filled the storage unit all willy nilly as well as the uhaul. It was so bad that we had to rent another Uhaul to put the over flow in. In fact the lady who worked at the uhaul had already went home because the place had closed but drove back to get my husband another truck. Once everything was on the uhauls and in the storage the driver was in a hurry and told me to sign and he left.

The labors followed us back to our apartment and unloaded our stuff for us and we paid them $600.

My contract says I was getting 2 stops, disassembly of furniture and assembly of furniture, FULL WHITE GLOVE SERVICE. I didn’t know they meant surgical glove!!!

The following day I was unpacking the things in the apartment and found 2 “My Pillow” Mattress toppers that didn’t belong to me. I could see how this could be a mistake since we own one. But why in the heck was their stuff mixed with mine? I emailed Israel and told him I had them and that Jennifer should have called me back yesterday. I also told him I would contacting a lawyer. He emailed back and told me he was sorry and he would fwd to Jennifer and his manager.

Jennifer emailed and told me she would send UPS to pick up the mattress toppers and sent me a link to make a claim.

We paid $19,186.00 for Moving Relocation Systems. $551.00 for extra insurance through PAF. $600 to the labors. 2 Uhaul trucks and had to get an extra storage until to put the overflow in the following day.

I have to say this is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in my life. I don’t even know if we are missing things because I won’t be able to go through it until December when we move into our house.
